Privacy Policy
Quell is an iPhone and Apple Watch app that helps people track and reduce vaping. This policy explains what data Quell handles, where it is stored, and which service providers may receive limited information.
1. Who is responsible
Quell is operated by Taras Frank in Germany. Questions about this policy can be sent to taras.fity@gmail.com.
2. Data stored on your device
Quell may store the information you enter or create while using the app, including:
- Your display name and quit date
- Vaping devices, nicotine strength, usage, and estimated spend
- Puff entries, cravings, triggers, and techniques used
- Your reasons for quitting and quit-plan progress
- Notification, language, currency, and app preferences
This information is stored locally using Apple's device storage frameworks. Quell does not operate an account system or a server database containing your quit history.
3. Apple features
Quell uses an Apple App Group so the iPhone app, widgets, Live Activities, and Apple Watch companion can access the same local data. Notifications are scheduled through Apple's notification system. Siri and Shortcuts actions are handled by Apple frameworks.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple. Quell does not receive your payment card details. RevenueCat is used to manage subscription entitlements and may process a generated app user identifier, purchase history, device and platform information, and diagnostics needed to provide and troubleshoot purchases. RevenueCat processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Apple may also process purchase, device, and diagnostic information under Apple's privacy policy.
5. Data Quell does not use
- No advertising trackers
- No sale of personal information
- No AI analysis of your quit history
- No third-party analytics SDK for behavioral profiling
- No contact list, precise location, microphone, camera, or photo access
6. Diagnostics
Apple may provide aggregated or user-approved crash and performance diagnostics through App Store Connect. These reports are used only to maintain and improve the app.
7. Retention and deletion
Your quit data remains on your device until you delete it from Quell, delete the app, or erase the device. Quell includes a reset option that removes local profile, puff, craving, device, and settings data. Purchase records remain with Apple as required for transaction history and legal obligations.
8. Children
Quell is not directed to children. The app is intended for people old enough to use nicotine products under the laws that apply where they live.
9. International processing
Apple and RevenueCat may process limited purchase or diagnostic data in countries outside your own. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards they use for international transfers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data. Most Quell data is held only on your device and can be viewed or deleted directly in the app. For provider-held purchase data, contact Apple or RevenueCat. 11. Changes
This policy may change when Quell adds features or service providers. The latest version will always appear on this page with an updated date.
